He practiced as an associate in Buffalo, NY, treating an array of patients ranging from Professional athletes such as the Buffalo Bills as well as weekend warriors before moving to Charleston and opening his first office in Summerville.
In 2008, David Quick with the Post and Courier did a two page story on Dr. Jimerson and Active Release Techniques (read here). After, patients began to travel from as far as Myrtle Beach for answers and solutions to difficult soft tissue related cases. Dr. Jimerson opened a second office location in Charleston shortly thereafter. Dr. Jimerson is a credentialed fully body certified Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) provider and has achieved the highest level an Active Release Doctor can obtain through study, certification and testing with Dr. Michael Leahy, founder and developer of the technique. Active Release Technique is a state-of-the-art soft tissue system that
treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves that often result from injury to over-used muscles. A.R.T. has become one of most sought after softtissue treatments in the world today. A.R.T is often your best bet in resolving a chronic soft tissue injury. It is one of the most effective forms of treatment for a wide variety of soft tissue and repetitive-motion injuries. A.R.T is widely used by industry professionals suffering from cumulative injury traumas, as well as athletes (both professional and weekend warriors) who have suffered from a sports-related injury. A.R.T is extremely effective in treating rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, plantar fasciitis, iliotibial band syndrome and many other conditions.
Dr. Jimerson's primary goal is to get his patients better in the shortest time possible as well as equip them with the knowledge of how to stay out of pain and continue to improve performance. While resolving the symptoms are always top priority, it is paramount to determine how the injury occurred to truly treat and prevent the issue from occurring again.
